... last time on My Life Should be a TV Show

Updated: Apr 7, 2024

Last time on My Life Should be a TV Show, we discussed that my boss was going to be getting back to me in regards to the status of my job. Well... so he did. He decided that he was going to file for bankruptcy and shut down the companies. He gave us two weeks notice and is closing up shop as of two weeks from now. He also requested that all of our communication be via email. I responded to the email informing us what his plans were, asking many questions because I didn't know how to proceed. He told us his plans but he didn't say what to do further.

He never responded.

Everyone has been emailing me and calling me asking how to proceed with charters, future charters, payments, etc. I have no idea but I'm basically telling everyone that if our boss doesn't care we shouldn't. He's checked out and so we should move on and too. Charters that have paid in full need to finish and happen for the next two weeks. That's it. One of my co workers called me asking what to do about an ongoing sale for a term charter. I told her the same thing - if our boss clearly doesn't care we shouldn't either.

One thing I did say to one of my coworkers was that we should go into business together. She has access to so many of her repeat clients and millionaire and billionaire clients and to reach out to them and just say her phone number changed and to reach her there from then on. She said she wanted to do it - but needed someone to help her with the company side of it. I suggested to her that I could do that. Her average profit was $20k a month. If we do a 60/40 split or even a 70/30 split (after overhead) I could potentially get $6,000 a month. That times 12 months is $72,000. AND if I reach out to all of our former clients to sell my event planning services we might be able to kick off my company... again.

Maybe that's what I was meant to get from this job. My main problem was that I didn't know where and how to get clients. This solves all my problems. Or at least it gives me prospects that could potentially turn into clients.

Let's see how things go from here on out. I have a meeting with the girl on Wednesday to discuss the potential partnership.
